If you believe it’s possible, it COULD happen.
If you believe it’s true, it WILL happen!
I’d been seeing a lot of previews for a new show on Amazon Prime titled “Zelda” so I decided to watch the show.
Zelda is the story of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald. For anyone who isn’t familiar with F. Scott Fitzgerald’s work, he is the author of The Great Gatsby (among many other amazing articles and stories).
The show intrigued me because it depicts Zelda as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s muse and because of this (and because of the era) there were things that Zelda wanted to do in her life but chose to put on hold because her husband insisted he could not create his great works without her.
After watching all of the available episodes of this show, I felt drawn to doing a little research about Fitzgerald to see how much of what is on the internet parallels Hollywood’s version of the story.
While it’s true that The Great Gatsby was well received when it was published, it was not until the 1950’s and ‘60’s, long after Fitzgerald’s death that it achieved its stature as the definitive portrait of the “Roaring Twenties,” as well as one of the greatest novels ever written!
The thought that intrigues me about watching Fitzgerald and Zelda’s life unfold is the fact that the movie depicts Fitzgerald as a man who never felt he was good enough (and his internet bio concurs), felt “less than” around his Princeton peers, and believed he was nothing and could not create the work he was known for if Zelda were not right by his side.
How many times does this literary legend and the Hollywood version of his life depict the real-life thoughts of many of us who, no matter how many successes we achieve, still believe that we are not good enough, smart enough, talented enough, know enough and have difficulty admitting how fantastic we are?
If someone were to ask you, “what makes you so fantastic” would you be able to give an immediate answer or would your first response be to say something like, “Well, I don’t know about FANTASTIC, but….”?
Why is it so difficult for us to see our value, our worth and the gift we are to the world but so easy to accept the fact that we have no value, have low self-worth and couldn’t possibly be a gift worth sharing with the world?
I urge you to let your light shine right now instead of waiting for someone to discover your value long after you have left this earth. It’s true that times were different in the 20’s and social status reigned supreme but what excuse would you give yourself today for not seeing your greatness?
Whatever you believe, you will also create. Believe that you are worthy of everything you desire in this lifetime and you will receive it or something better. Believe that you are worthy of love, passion, abundance and happiness and all of these will be yours.
We believe what we were taught to believe and all of those beliefs can be mastered so that you are living the life you are here to live.
Give yourself permission to Master Your Beliefs so you can confidently finish this sentence, “I am fabulous because…”!

Women everywhere are preparing to step out of the world they have always known for a world of the unknown because they know that the unknown is where their dreams and goals are waiting for them.
Because the unknown can be fearful, stepping into the unknown takes a leap of faith. How do we step into a life we have never experienced (the unknown) and leave behind a life that is familiar to us (the known)?
The life that is known to us includes security until we feel the desire to step outside of that known territory. Once we realize that what we want lies beyond were we are, the pull to move farther than where we are becomes as strong as the fear to follow the pull.
Following this pull is no more fearful than what we have already built for ourselves and yet we seldom fear where we’ve been because, where we’ve been, is no longer unknown to us. Look back to where you’ve come from, the successes you’ve created, the mountains you’ve climbed and the valley’s you’ve wept in and you will see that the journey that lies behind you is no less fearful than the journey ahead of you. Stepping into the unknown leads to your dreams and goals, staying where you are can become just as fearful with the realization that, “there is no growth there.”
Overcoming and understanding the fears associated with moving from the known to the unknown empowers us to take that leap of faith in the direction of our dreams and goals.
Many battles have been fought and won but if the fear of going into battle had stopped us, we never would have tasted the victories and success of pushing past our fears.
Every woman who has experienced motherhood has had fears; will my baby be healthy, will I be a good mother, will I be able to provide? The female executive making it in a man’s world has experienced fears; is this worth the struggle, will I be seen for my contribution to my field, will I be accepted by my peers? A woman struggling with illness and preparing to fight the battle; some have won the battle and some have lost but her courage to win the battle becomes her legacy, her show of strength, and her courage.
Every woman who has gone before us to bring awareness to end segregation, harassment, abuse, violence, the women who fought for a woman’s right to vote; every one of these women have stepped outside of the security of what she knew to take a leap of faith. We are more powerful than we can imagine but those who choose to allow their fears to hold them back will remain where they are.
Our fears of moving forward are based on a belief of what will happen if we do. Every belief we have is based on something we were taught by other people, places and events. Master those beliefs and you create the opportunity to eliminate your fears.
Life is all about choices, we can choose to remain where we are because we believe it keeps us safe or we can conquer our fears and step into the unknown. You can do this! Understanding where your fears are coming from takes away their power over you. Be empowered, it is one of the greatest rewards a woman can give herself!
