How many of you know someone who is always late, and when they finally show up, they always have a plethora of excuses? Did you ever hear someone show up late to an event and tell you that they were late because of traffic? Wouldn’t it be refreshing to have someone just be honest and say, “I am late because I left the house late!”?
In his book, The Success Principles, Jack Canfield shares how his mentor, W. Clement Stone taught Jack to take 100% responsibility for his life. Taking 100% responsibility means you acknowledge that you create everything that happens to you. It means you understand that you are the cause of all of your experiences.
We must all learn that we are responsible for the choices we make in our lives and that we must give up blaming someone or something else for where we are.
· You are the one who ate the junk food
· You are the one who refuses to exercise!
· You are the one who stays in the job
· You are the one who said “no” to the opportunity
· You are the one who ignored your intuition
· You are the one who abandoned your dream
· You are the one who keeps putting your relationship on hold
· You are the one who is holding on to your negative past
· You are the one who decided you had to do it alone!
Every negative has a positive…
· You CAN learn to eat healthier
· You CAN learn to say no to peer pressure
· You CAN find a better job
· You CAN leave your job to live your passion
· You CAN say yes to a great opportunity
· You CAN listen to your inner voice when it tells you something is not quite right
· You CAN take classes or hire a coach to create your success
· You CAN find the exercise program that is right for you
Either take 100% responsibility and accept that you are making the choice to stay where you are, take responsibility for your choices, and stop complaining... or… take the risk of creating your life exactly the way you want it.
How would learning to take 100% responsibility with the choices you make create a New Beginning in your life?
I asked 10 different people “why they eat”, and got 10 different answers. Some of the answers given were:
1. I’m hungry
2. I’m bored
3. I’m depressed
4. I’m happy
5. I like to cook, eating is part of cooking
6. Something to do when I watch TV
7. I am in training
8. When our family gathers, we eat!
9. It’s a: holiday, birthday, weekend, anniversary, special occasion…
10. A favorite of moms: I eat when I feed my family
Out of the 20 or so people that I asked, not one of them told me they eat for nourishment or to keep their body healthy!
"Let food be thy medicine & let thy medicine be food"
Our bodies require specific nutrients to maintain our health (think of the phrase: “you are what you eat!”) and yet many of us still think the 4 basic food groups are Fast Food, Frozen, Microwave, or Pizza Delivery. Our bodies are natural detoxifiers but with all of the processed food we consume it wreaks havoc with our body’s ability to sustain life.
Eating healthy is easy to do, and it is easy not to do. What one food or drink can you eliminate in your diet or your family’s diet to start a New Beginning with your eating habits?
Go ahead, accept my challenge; you have nothing to lose besides your bad habits!
Do you know anyone who believes that their age is keeping them from living their life?
We want to live our life like it matters; to make every day count and one way to expand your thinking and create success in your life is to create daily goals.
We all know that we should set "SMART" goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Reasonable and Timely). In 2006 I set a “Smart” goal to lose 30 pounds. Just when I had all but given up hope that I would ever achieve this goal, I was fortunate to find a system that enabled me to move from a size 18 to a size 8. The best part about achieving my goal is, here I am 6 years later and I have kept it off!
I will be 55 years old this year and I feel healthier at 55 than I did at 25 which prompted me to ask myself, “What's next?". The answer to that question helped me decided to begin a 30-Day Challenge! My 30-Day Challenge includes toning and stretching. I enlisted the help of Shelby Mirrotto, from Move It Momma Fitness and asked her to help me create a workout geared towards helping me reach my goal. Summer is upon us and I would like toned arms and stomach muscles to go with my summer wardrobe!
An old knee injury had kept me on the athletic sidelines for the past few years, but with the help of my favorite Chiropractor, Dr. Melissa Diller, we are working on rehabilitating the challenges I have with my knee.
What will it take for you to set a health goal for yourself within the next 30 days? Will you accept your 30-Day Challenge or will you let excuses keep you from expanding your success in life? I am already 5 days into my 30-Day challenge and that means that I am 5 days ahead of anyone that hasn’t yet set their goals.
What New Beginning are you prepared to create to move your health to the next level? After all, if you don’t watch your figure, neither will anyone else!
Have you ever attended a meeting, seminar or workshop that promised to take your life or business to the next level; only to find out at the end of the meeting that you will need to buy the speaker’s CD’s or DVD’s for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars?
Most women entrepreneurs already have the power to grow their business; they just need to understand the Inner Strength they already possess that prompted them to start their own business in the first place!
Every woman has the ability to reach beyond the depths of her understanding to create success in her life. Every day women create success as a wife, mother, athlete, business owner, employee, partner, girlfriend, or mentor. Have you ever wondered how you are able to fit in everything you do in a single day? Women manage to run countries, businesses, homes, and often put the needs of others before their own to get the job done.
I have been a student and teacher of the Martial Arts since 1994 and when I started teaching Self Defense classes to women, I found that most women wanted to learn some basic information to feel safe but they were not interested in committing to hours and hours of training each week. I was not surprised when many of the women in my class began telling me that by learning the philosophies and techniques for self-defense, they were also able to apply it to everyday situations in their business and personal life.
Once I started adding basic self-defense techniques to my coaching sessions, many of my clients were amazed at how they began to excel in public speaking, being assertive with co-workers, making better decisions in their professional and business lives and even when they were dating!
What are you doing to take your business to the next level? Do you know how to tap into your Inner Strength to power your life or business? If you’re tired of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on the next CD or DVD to improve your life or business, perhaps it is time for a New Beginning! I know you can do it; after all, you are a woman!
