Do you ever think about how short life can be?
Are you living your passion?
Do you feel that you are doing exactly what you were sent here to accomplish in your lifetime?
Many people don't start thinking about what or who is important to them until they suffer a great loss. Once you or someone you love is gone, you have lost the opportunity to live the life you were meant to live. What would you like to change in your life?
Once you allow yourself to think "outside of the box" and truly embrace the concept of how you will be remembered, this exercise has the power to help you see where you are off track in your current life. If you want to be remembered as a great baseball player, how often are you practicing baseball? If you want to be remembered as a great artist, how are you practicing your art?
Here is an example of what this exercise might look like:
As I look out on all of the faces of those of you in attendance, I can’t help but smile that Jack Canfield has come to pay his respects. Jack, Nancy really admired your work and was always the first in line to help promote you and your books!
I hardly know where to begin; Nancy was such an inspiration to so many women and once she determined her life’s mission, there was no stopping her.
Nancy’s mission statement was to encourage women to improve their health, value their “self” and increase their wealth. One of Nancy’s favorite sayings was, “A Man Is Not A Plan!” Nancy truly encouraged women to find their gifts and build a business around what they loved to do because she knew that when women have financial independence, they are able to make the better choices.
When I think about what Nancy would love to be remembered for, I know that a big part of her happiness came from being a mother and grandmother. Nancy learned many things about being a mother long after her children had moved away and had children of their own. When it comes to being a mother, Nancy felt confident that only after learning to love herself, did she begin to truly enjoy the bonds of motherhood and her advice to mothers everywhere was always, “Love yourself first!”
Whether she was traveling, speaking to women’s groups or sharing her message on the radio Nancy loved encouraging women to believe in themselves. By sharing her story, Nancy has been able to help thousands of women understand their story, make the necessary changes and live their life to the fullest.
I am sure that wherever Nancy is, she is Partying Like Purple!
Ok, now it is your turn. Give yourself permission to write your own Eulogy and then read it and be honest with yourself. Are you living the life you want to be remembered for?
I hope this blog has given you something powerful to think about and the next time you are wondering if you are living your life "on purpose" think of this exercise and you will know if you are on the right track!
Yours In Health,
My Mission: To encourage women to improve their health, value their "self" and increase their wealth!
Mother Nature has her own way of taking care of life.
Have you ever seen crabs in a bucket? When you place one crab in a bucket, the first thing it will attempt to do is escape. If you put two crabs in a bucket together, as soon as one tries to climb out, the other crab will grab the escaping crab by the legs and try to use it to climb over him to escape itself. This process will continue to repeat itself so that NO crab actually ends up escaping.
Do you ever feel like there is someone attempting to hold you down so that you can't escape or move forward in your life? Who is holding you down?
Do you recognize the crabs in your life? Crabs come in many forms:
Are you your OWN crab? Being your own crab can look like this:
Knowing the difference between the crabs in your life and being your own crab has a great deal to do with your self-talk. When you take a step closer to your success goals, do you second guess yourself? Do you worry about what others are going to say or if they will support your choices? Do you constantly wonder what others are thinking of you and if they approve of the choices you are making? Who are the people in your life that support you? Who are the people in your life who constantly try to remind you not to get too far ahead of yourself?
When you are following your life's passion who are the people that are supporting you? Do you support yourself or do you tell yourself that you don't have enough:
My wish for you is to crawl out of whatever bucket you feel trapped in and move towards the freedom you will feel when you are following your life's passion. Give yourself permission to eliminate the crabs in your life and the next time someone tells you that you "can't" do something, simply turn around, look them straight in the eye, and say, "WATCH ME!"
My Mission: To encourage women to improve their health, value their "self" and increase their wealth!
One of the reasons I love hosting Life's About Choices Radio is because not only do I get the opportunity meet fascinating women who have fascinating stories, but I also get to share these women with our listening audience.
One of my recent guests was Dr. Noreen Kahn-Mayberry PhD. Noreen Khan-Mayberry, PhD, also known as "The Tox Doc", is a toxicologist that specializes in environmental, space, food and nutritional toxicology. Her personal mission is to translate the language of science for non-scientists in order to educate and inform the public of critical issues that affect their health and quality of life.
In 2006 I was at my most unhealthy state in my life; little did I know that toxins in my food, cosmetics and environment were a contributing factor. With so much conflicting information being given to us by the media, how does the lay person know what to choose?
When you have questions, who do you turn to for answers? Here are two of my favorite nutritional consultants: Terri Crystal and Sharon Madsen. Check out what they are doing to bring answers to those who have questions!
I love my nutrition program and how it continues to promote health in my body. However, I am not a nutritionist nor an expert on toxicology. How then do I share what I have learned so that people who are also looking for answers will be open to making some changes in their health as well? Well... I find the experts and invite them to be a guest on my show!
Here are some of the reasons that Dr. Noreen shared about weight gain...
When we find something that we are passionate about, and we know it will enhance the lives of others, and we take the time to share the message in any way we can, this puts us in a position to educate, empower, motivate and inspire others.
Me... I LOVE MY LIFE! I feel so very blessed to meet so many women who are working to enlighten others by sharing their stories. When women embrace the concept that we are stronger by collaborating than competing, we begin to see how we can make changes in our lives and the lives of others!
Every day millions of women decide to start a home based business. Women everywhere are discovering their passion and creating a business around what they love doing the most!
However, in order to work a business that you love, there are two very important things you MUST HAVE; your health and money to build your business.
Many women are changing their story from, "I can't live the life of my dreams" to "I am making my dreams a reality!"
Udana Power, entrepreneur, millionaire, singer, actress and screenplay writer went from having .46 cents in her bank account to millionaire status with her Multi-Level Marketing company and is teaching other women how to have the same financial success. Multi-Level Marketing is a $126 Billion Dollar Industry; bigger than the film and movie industry! More millionaires are made in this industry than any other and 83% of the women in the United States who are making $100,000 or more are making it in the Multi-Level Marketing Industry. Udana cautions that knowing the right Multi-Level Marketing company for you and understanding how the business works is key, prior to committing to the business side of a Multi-Level marketing company.
If you are growing a business that you are passionate about and are tired of crossing your fingers every month to pay your expenses, you may want to consider the unclaimed money that is available from a Multi-Level Marketing company that is right for you. Consider this money unclaimed if Multi-Level Marketing is not something you have ever considered to create residual income to grow your business.
No one is saying that you have to earn six figures in your Multi-Level Marketing company but ask yourself, "what could I do with an extra $300, $500 or even $1,000 each month?" If you are one of those people who turn your back on all conversations about Multi-Level Marketing, perhaps changing the story in your head about your limiting belief in an MLM opportunity will give you an opportunity for the unclaimed money waiting for you as a way to pay for the life you have always dreamed of living.
At one time, the only way to create residual income was to become a singer, songwriter, author or actor. These people would work very hard to write their song, their book or get a part in their favorite movie, TV show or commercial. Today, creating residual income from this type of work is difficult; especially with so many people pirating their work. When you are ready to join the millions of people who have discovered unclaimed money in their Multi-Level Marketing business, and stop trading your time for someone else's money, you will find that you have more time freedom, money to live the life of your dreams, AND, best of all, the financial backing to work at something you are passionate about every single day!
The KEY to Success is easy:
My grandson is 5 years old. When I tell him that I am going to visit, he asks me what day and what time I will be there.
Never would I ever consider going back on my word about my arrival time. If I tell him I will arrive on Saturday at 10:00 in the morning, then I make sure I am there on or before 10:00 a.m. Why do I do this, because I love him like crazy and disappointing him is never an option for me.
Keeping our word to our loved ones, especially a 5-year old is an easy thing to do. What I often wonder is, at what point did keeping our word stop being important?
Have you ever set a time to meet with someone and find that you are running late? I am often amazed in business when I find people who do not honor another person's time or keep their word about showing up for an event.
When did that become acceptable?
In his book, The Four Agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz talks about being impeccable with your word. Don goes on to share that being impeccable with your word sounds very simple, but it is very very powerful. Why your word? Your word is the power that you have to create. Your word is the gift that comes directly from your Higher Source. Through the word, you express your creative power. It is through the word that you manifest everything. Regardless of what language you speak, your intent manifests through the word. What you dream, what you feel, and what you really are, will all be manifested through the word.
Like a sword with two edges, your word can create the most beautiful dream or your word can destroy everything around you. One edge is the misuse of the word, which creates a living hell. The other edge is the impeccability of the word, which will only create beauty, love, and heaven on earth.
What harm comes to others when you don't keep your word? Thinking about my grandson, I could not bear the disappointment that I would cause him by not keeping my word. When we are late or don't show up at all we throw out a hasty, "I'm so sorry" but do we really think about what breaking our word has done to the other person?
What are some of the reasons that we break our word? Mismanagement of our time, overextending yourself because we feel obligated to say "yes" when we really want to say "no!" When you start giving yourself permission to honor your time and your level of commitment we will begin to be impeccable with our word. Being impeccable with our word is a powerful feeling.
Think about that person in your life whom you strive never to disappoint. Now give yourself permission to NEVER disappoint "YOU" at that same level and you will find that yourself empowered to stop disappointing yourself and others.
What would our lives be like if more people truly gave more thought to this concept? As for me, I love the look on that little guys face when I show up on or before the promised time!
“True forgiveness is when you can say, "Thank you for that experience.”
― Oprah Winfrey
Has someone ever done something to you that made you so mad that forgiveness did not seem possible?
3 women were discussing this very question this week with me...
One woman was complaining about paying another woman several thousand dollars to advertise her business but the advertising never materialized. This woman was very upset, posting negative comments on the internet and was telling everyone who would listen about how she had paid for something she never received.
Another woman was talking about her ex-husband making negative comments about her to their children. This woman was practically falling apart because of the awful things that her ex said-husband was telling their children about her.
In yet another conversation, a woman was complaining about how her mother ruined her life due to bad parenting.
As I listened to these 3 separate conversations, I wondered if each woman understood the amount of power that she was giving up to the person they were angry with.
What if, every person that comes into our lives does so to teach us something? If this is the case, and we are able to look at situations that upset us and quickly realize that rather than be upset, perhaps we should be saying, "thank you for that experience because it has taught me to make better choices next time.
If the lesson:
Michael Jackson has a song that really brings to mind the effectiveness of looking inward at the struggles we are dealing with in our lives:
I'm Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And...
Then Make A Change
Too many people want to blame others for where they are in life or the struggles they are dealing with because they under estimate the person in the mirror. Beginning with the person in the mirror will always help you resolve life's challenges in a way that will allow you to feel empowered rather than disempowered!
You are a very powerful person. Instead of dealing with a situation with negative energy towards another person, start empowering yourself by creating a positive outcome to the situation. People are going to do what they do, stop giving them your power. Look yourself directly in the eyes and ask, "how can I take control of this situation?" Blaming others will only add to the negative energy in the situation. Start by loving the person in the mirror and appreciating the gift of each experience you have been given.
"I forgive you for making a poor business choice"
"I forgive you for letting your ex-husband make you feel disempowered"
"I forgive you for allowing an abusive parent to continue to have control over your thoughts in the present"
Once you have forgiven yourself and are ready to take back your power, you begin to see the endless possibilities that life has to offer you!
