The WANT was there; work from home!
The DESIRE was there; be your own boss!
The POSSIBILITY was there; make all the money you want!
The DREAM was there; have time freedom…
THEN, REALITY set in…
…you wake up, get the children off to school, sit down for a cup of coffee, read your email, which leads to internet browsing, which leads to catching up with friends on your favorite social media, and before you know it, it is time for lunch.
WOW! Where has the day gone?
Now you decide to put in a load of laundry, clean up the kitchen, start thinking about dinner, and oops, your day has gotten away from you.
How do you prioritize your day? How do you make business a priority when you work from home and you look around and see so much that needs your attention?
You may want to start by creating a weekly calendar that shows each day in 1-hour increments. From there, make a list of the things that “MUST” be accomplished on a daily basis (i.e. exercise, breakfast, shower, walk the dog, etc.) and put them on your calendar. A good rule of thumb is to set aside one hour every day and break it down into twenty minute increments that consist of 20 minutes of reading something in your field, 20 minutes of listening to an audio about something in your field and 20 minutes of exercise. If you schedule this hour into your day, it will get done! Remember, if you don’t manage your time, others will manage it for you!
Take everything you want to accomplish and think in 1-hour increments until you see it clearly on paper. This simple plan could be the key to keep you on track and from giving up your dream of working from home! Remember, if you keep doing what you have always done, you will continue to get what you currently have. Creating a New Beginning can start with something as small as 1-hour increments!
