If you believe it’s possible, it COULD happen.
If you believe it’s true, it WILL happen!
I’d been seeing a lot of previews for a new show on Amazon Prime titled “Zelda” so I decided to watch the show.
Zelda is the story of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald. For anyone who isn’t familiar with F. Scott Fitzgerald’s work, he is the author of The Great Gatsby (among many other amazing articles and stories).
The show intrigued me because it depicts Zelda as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s muse and because of this (and because of the era) there were things that Zelda wanted to do in her life but chose to put on hold because her husband insisted he could not create his great works without her.
After watching all of the available episodes of this show, I felt drawn to doing a little research about Fitzgerald to see how much of what is on the internet parallels Hollywood’s version of the story.
While it’s true that The Great Gatsby was well received when it was published, it was not until the 1950’s and ‘60’s, long after Fitzgerald’s death that it achieved its stature as the definitive portrait of the “Roaring Twenties,” as well as one of the greatest novels ever written!
The thought that intrigues me about watching Fitzgerald and Zelda’s life unfold is the fact that the movie depicts Fitzgerald as a man who never felt he was good enough (and his internet bio concurs), felt “less than” around his Princeton peers, and believed he was nothing and could not create the work he was known for if Zelda were not right by his side.
How many times does this literary legend and the Hollywood version of his life depict the real-life thoughts of many of us who, no matter how many successes we achieve, still believe that we are not good enough, smart enough, talented enough, know enough and have difficulty admitting how fantastic we are?
If someone were to ask you, “what makes you so fantastic” would you be able to give an immediate answer or would your first response be to say something like, “Well, I don’t know about FANTASTIC, but….”?
Why is it so difficult for us to see our value, our worth and the gift we are to the world but so easy to accept the fact that we have no value, have low self-worth and couldn’t possibly be a gift worth sharing with the world?
I urge you to let your light shine right now instead of waiting for someone to discover your value long after you have left this earth. It’s true that times were different in the 20’s and social status reigned supreme but what excuse would you give yourself today for not seeing your greatness?
Whatever you believe, you will also create. Believe that you are worthy of everything you desire in this lifetime and you will receive it or something better. Believe that you are worthy of love, passion, abundance and happiness and all of these will be yours.
We believe what we were taught to believe and all of those beliefs can be mastered so that you are living the life you are here to live.
Give yourself permission to Master Your Beliefs so you can confidently finish this sentence, “I am fabulous because…”!
