Why Am I Always Looking for Something More? | Clearing The Attic #5: The Seeker
|
Every conversation begins with a metaphor. The real conversation begins when you notice it in your own life.

The Seeker
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to believe that what you're looking for is somewhere else? A better future. A deeper understanding. More healing. More peace. Another book. Another workshop. Another version of yourself to become. For many years, I believed that too. It seemed perfectly natural to think that if I just kept searching… eventually I'd arrive. |
Have you ever felt like you're always searching for something more? Maybe it's another book. Another workshop. Another breakthrough. Another version of yourself you're hoping to become. Welcome to Clearing The Attic - a series of conversations exploring the boxes we've been carrying through life and what happens when we're willing to gently open them. In conversation #5: The Seeker, we explore why the search for peace, happiness, purpose, and fulfillment can sometimes become another box we carry. Many of us believe that if we just learn a little more, heal a little more, or understand ourselves a little better, we'll finally arrive. But have you ever noticed that there's always another destination waiting? What if the one doing all the seeking never questions why it's seeking in the first place? Perhaps peace isn't waiting at the end of the journey. Perhaps it's here before the search even begins. This conversation is an invitation to pause... to notice the thoughts that begin with "When I finally..." or "Once I become..." and gently ask yourself: What is already here before this story begins? Until next time... Notice what you're still searching for.
🗝️ This Week's Attic Invitation - This week, simply notice the moments when your mind says…
"When I finally…"
"Once I become…"
"After I figure this out…"
Don't argue with those thoughts.
Don't replace them with positive thinking.
Simply notice.
Then quietly ask yourself…
What if what I'm seeking has never been missing?
And before the story answers…
What is already here before the story begins?

👀 What Did You Notice?
Seeking often feels hopeful.
It promises that peace is just around the corner.
The next insight.
The next breakthrough.
The next version of ourselves.
But awareness invites a different possibility.
Perhaps the deepest discovery isn't arriving somewhere new.
Perhaps it's recognizing that awareness has been present through every step of the search.
The journey may continue.
But the belief that something essential is missing begins to soften.
